ClassLink Group Buy

From 2018, the NNNC has partnered with ClassLink to provide the most cost-effective pricing for Nebraska schools. Starting in 2020, the NNNC has been a member of the ClassLink Ambassador program. By the NNNC participating in the Ambassador program, districts who become ClassLink customers and mention the NNNC Ambassador program are eligible for a 10% discount from published list pricing. Best yet, a district does not need to be an NNNC member to participate and receive the discount. Educational Service Unit #3 is another ClassLink Ambassador and customers can receive the discount by mentioning either ESU 3 or NNNC.

History

During Spring NETA 2018, ClassLink was a registered vendor. After seeing a brief demonstration, a formal demonstration was scheduled following the conference. The formal demonstration was performed by their CEO, Berj Akian and we were very impressed.

Shortly after the demonstration, the NNNC entered into a test environment where we went through the initial setup, worked with their implementation team to go through the entire process, and spoke at length to insure that the ClassLink platform would be able to meet the needs of our schools and ESUs. We also wanted to make sure that from a management perspective we could have a distributed environment where we could provide assistance to the schools under a single pane of glass.

A few months later, we were confident that ClassLink would in fact meet the Single Sign On needs of our schools and ESUs and would be able to be managed in the way we desire to manage it. We then began the negotiation process and started planning the NNNC Single Sign On Event to present our findings to interested schools and ESUs.

In December of 2018, we held the first ever NNNC Single Sign On Event at the Lifelong Learning Center at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. The event was attended by over 50 people, both physically and virtually. Attendees were able to hear presentations from Andy Boell, representing the State of Single Sign On for the NNNC; Scott Isaacson, representing the State of Single Sign On for the Nebraska Cloud; and Berj Akian, presenting on ClassLink (via Zoom). Following that day, the NNNC and ClassLink have been in negotiations to find the best solution for the needs of the schools and ESUs in Nebraska. The original negotiations have since been superseded by ClassLink’s Ambassador Program.
